Virtue

What does it mean to be virtuous according to the scriptures? Is there a scriptural account of virtue? We often associate virtue with women, is it cool to be women and men of virtue? Once we gain this foundation, let's create visual displays of virtue with our promises.

Danny McMullen - S&I Coordinator - Toronto
Danny and Debbie McMullen are both from Northern Ontario. Brother McMullen is a YSA convert and Debbie was raised in the Church. They have been married for 29 years and are the parents of four children. Five beautiful grandsons and one perfect granddaughter. Brother McMullen made a career change 9 years ago this January to work as a Coordinator for the Church Educational System. His interests include distance running, painting in watercolours, family gatherings and weekly dates with Debbie.

Darren Larson - S&I Coordinator - Ottawa
Brother Larson served in the Canada Montreal Mission from 1990 to 1992, became tolerably bilingual, and returned to marry Marsha Lee Johnson in the Alberta Temple in 1993. Brother Larson received a combined BA and BEd from the University of Lethbridge in 1997 and a MEd in Educational administration and Teacher Improvement in 2004. Brother and Sister Larson are the proud parents of 6 beautiful children.


We Believe in... High Adventure!

We will definitely endure all things when we understand that this life is a faith-based work and it really is an exciting adventure!

Michael Pilling - S&I Coordinator - Atlantic Canada
Michael Pilling lives in Cole Harbour, Nova Scotia and loves living near the ocean as long as he doesn't have to eat fish or be out in a boat. He and his wife, May Ann, have 6 great children who are noisy and messy and expensive but a whole lot of fun! Brother Pilling is currently serving as the Bishop of his ward but his greatest ambition is to serve with his wife in the nursery. He certainly thinks life is high adventure because of the stabilizing force that the gospel of Jesus Christ brings to life.


"Be ye reconciled to God"

Why is it important for us personally to seek God's will? Developing the humility and willingness to seek the will of God and to submit ourselves to it is a lifetime pursuit. It is a line-upon line process.

Daniel Limoges - S&I Coordinator - Montreal, QC
Brother Limoges is originally from Montreal. He is a convert to the Church and was baptized in December 1974. He served a mission in the France Paris Mission from 1977-1979, and has served in the Church in many callings since then, including High Councilor, bishop's counselor, Bishop and Stake Executive Secretary. He has also served as a seminary and institute teacher. He is currently serving as the 1st Counselor of the Montreal QC Stake Presidency. Brother and Sister Limoges are the parents of four children. He is an educator and administrator in education. He is currently employed by the Church Educational System as a seminary and institute coordinator for the province of Quebec. He enjoys hockey, golf, travel, reading, teaching and watching sports on TV.


We hope...all things???

Why do I need hope? How do I get it? Life is a lot lighter while travelling through the mists of darkness when you have a perfect brightness of hope.

David Goldthorp - S&I Institute Director - Toronto, ON
Brother and Sister Goldthorp live northwest of Toronto in the beautiful hills of Orangeville. He got a biology degree so he could teach religion. They live in a shoe with so many children they don't know what to do. So they love fishing, playing basketball and riding bikes with their 3 boys and one princess. His goal in life is to be in better shape than his wife and cook the perfect five course meal on his barbecue.


Endure all things

Life is tough, but as children of God, so are we! Through perseverance, and steadfastness, we can endure the challenges we face and be joyful.

Michael Bridge
Michael Bridge is married to Shannon Anderson and they have four awesome children, three daughters and a son. They have been with The Church Educational System for twelve years, teaching full time seminary in Tremonton, UT, and in Alberta. They currently live in Delaware, ON and love being close to the great lakes and the beautiful outdoors.
